Personal interests:

Science has become a passion of mine, and in addition to teaching Chemistry and Biology, I consider it part of my job description as a science teacher to encourage passion and nerdery of any form in my students, coaching drama, computer club and science club. I love stories, enjoying fiction in any medium, particularly books and movies.

What I find interesting about my research as an RET Fellow:

The most interesting thing was the daily experience of being a part of a busy research laboratory. The day to day experience is very different from the ways science is thought of by most people, in most cases involving far more error than trial, daily ups and downs, and far more excitement than most people think scientific research involves. It was particularly interesting to hear about the research that other RET students and professors were engaged in, and presenting before peers was a fun and challenging way to hone presentation and technical writing skills.
